Thank you for contacting Rev. Ike’s Ministry. We are also blessed to know that you have found Rev. Ike again.

Isn’t it wonderful that we serve such a Faithful God?  As Apostle Paul explains about God’s Word   1 Corinthians 3:6 (6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.), Rev. Ike planted the seeds of God’s Word, along your path over the past 35-years other ministries have watered those seeds, and God has given increase to His Word in your heart that you are now able to receive the deeper meaning. We rejoice and celebrate with you Marsha. On behalf of Rev. Ike, I say, “Welcome home.”

Love, Joy, Peace and Prosperity to you,

Study Topic #6 - THE POWER OF SELF DEFINITION

This [teaching] is heavy! I have been here before, about 32-26 years ago. I KNEW myself: knowing everything there was to know about people. I knew what I wanted and it came to pass. I called it God consciousness...when you know that you know that you know! Some call it intuition, to me that's God consciousness. I KNEW I would get married and have children. I KNEW that I would be OK in life. However, since I got married… I allowed my spouse to distract me from myself thus, I lost myself.

Yes, I have gotten mentally lazy. I have not had any GOOD mental stimulation. This is exciting to me and I'm really digging it.

Thank you for having a space to make comments as I read. That's great; it's like a study-buddy.

Sincerely,
MJ

Chapter #6: You Deserve God’s Goodness, Science of Living Study Guide

I don't understand this quote, "For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter in the Kingdom of heaven.”

Is that saying I need to be more righteous than the scribes and Pharisees in order to enter the kingdom of heaven?

Thank you for your question MJ.

Jesus took exception to the fact that the scribes and Pharisees had no true spiritual connection to God, the Father. He called them hypocrites quite often because they were more concerned about appearances, being recognized and honored as men of God, and administering the letter of the law than they were about seeking God, the Father, and His Kingdom, which is the systems of laws by which He operates. The Pharisees merely engaged in religious practices and they had no demonstration of God in their lives.  They marveled that Jesus performed miracles and they hated him for it; in addition, they did not recognize God in anything he did.

The Pharisees, being righteous men of God, fought against the things of God, against the Kingdom of God (kingdom of heaven) because they could not discern the things of the Spirit. As Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians   2:14, “But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”  They worshiped a God in the ethers who had no actual connection to them. That is why their long prayers produced no miracles, no healings, and no hope for the people. The scribes and the Pharisees had no power.

So, in order to exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you must move beyond the rituals and know that you and the Father are one. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ‘All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. ’”  Matthew 28:18.

Chapter #6: You Deserve God’s Goodness, Science of Living Study Guide

  1. Aren't all men "the natural" man? And, as such, aren't we seeking the Spirit of God?
  2. Isn't righteousness being morally correct, without sin nor guilt? Can you have one without the other?

Thank you for your questions MJ.

We are spirits having human experiences on earth wearing coats of skins (Genesis 3:21) which make us natural man. However, our natural state is spirit. Remember, we are created in the image and likeness of God and God is the Spirit.

People are at varying stages of spiritual re-discovery therefore, not everyone is seeking God to understand the relationship between man and his Creator. So many people do not grasp the idea that God resides within them, not in the blue sky over their heads (ethers).  Apostle Paul asks in 1 Corinthians 6:19:

19What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

For us to look for the Spirit of God is likened to a fish in the ocean looking for the ocean.  We cannot be separated from the Spirit of God because that is what gives these coats of skins life and the breath in our nostrils. However, that is the first journey that the natural man embarks on and during that journey he and she begin to discover true identity. We begin to realize that we already have a close and intimate relationship with God, I Am, because He is our Source for all things and all thoughts.

In God’s Kingdom, faith and belief in God are counted for righteousness (Romans 4:3, 4:5). Merriam-Webster says, 1: acting in accord with divine or moral law: free from guilt or sin. Sin is not taking on the mind of Christ Jesus and knowing that we are equal with God (Philippians 2:5-6). Guilt, Apostle Paul says in Romans 8:1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Moral implies conformity to established sanctioned codes or accepted notions of right and wrong. God calls David a man after mine own heart and David’s behavior was not always moral (2 Samuel 11). God loved David because David believed God and did God’s will (Acts13:22).

God counts man’s thoughts and actions that are based in faith and belief in Him as righteousness.
