To offer each person the opportunity to create his/her best life by unlearning the information presented in this world every day that fosters fears, doubts, insecurities, violence, sickness, and poverty.

The Foundation

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2

2008 Study Topic #9 - An Analysis of the Prosperous Person

The Science of Living Study Lesson

Chapter 9
DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS…

What do you want me to do for you? (words of Jesus to a blind beggar) Thou shalt also decree a thing and it shall be established unto you. (Job 22:28) Whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24

A SCIENCE OF LIVING PRINCIPLE

The God within you has ways of bringing about that which you decide you want. But you must make the decision of exactly what it is you want.

Quote: “The great decisions of human life have as a rule, far more to do with the instincts and other mysterious unconsciousness factors than with conscious will and well-meaning reasonableness.“—Carl Gustav Jung

Quote: “Indecision is the second root of all evil!”—Rev. Ike

Quote: “Once a decision was made, I did not worry about it afterwards” —Harry S. Truman

Now we invite you to go to the Study Guide and read the rest of the chapter and complete the questions.

This journey of self-discovery consists of building blocks. Each month we give you a new technique to add to the previous months’ building blocks. You will get out according to what you invest in working with this material.  We encourage you to continue working with the earlier techniques as you add each new one.  Do not forget to access the monthly teachings of Dr. Tony Mitchell so that you may incorporate the Mind Science technology he offers to assist you in working through these lessons. Rev. Ike highly recommends Dr. Mitchell’s techniques.

As always, we are pleased and eager to hear from you about what you are discovering about you by asking yourself these questions and by answering the Science of Living Study Guide topic questions. Please give us time to respond to you; we do answer your questions but it may take a minute.

Our next stop along our Self-Discovery journey with Rev. Ike is his teaching, “Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…,” found in Chapter 9 of his Science of Living Study Guide.

In addition to working with Chapter 9 of Rev. Ike’s Science of Living Study Guide we would like to offer you a second message from Rev. Ike entitled, An Analysis of the Prosperous Person. Rev. Ike developed and first taught this lesson in May of 1982.

Now, here is the October message from Rev. Ike.

An Analysis of the Prosperous Person – Part 1

It has always been my habit to take notes of successful people to see what they do and how they make themselves successful.  Now I’m giving you one of the great big secrets of how to begin your journey to success. One of the great big secrets of success is to take note of successful people and find out what makes them tick.  The Bible says mark the perfect man and behold the upright.  If you want to be successful, take note of successful people.  I often tell the kids that when they go to school, look around in their classrooms and pick out the students that are interested in their lessons and are doing well, and get to know them.  Hang around with successful people; study that which you want to be. Study the kind of people that you want to be like and this is what we’re doing in this lesson entitled, An Analysis of the Prosperous Person Part 1.

I subscribe to “Success Magazine.”  It comes out every month and it tells stories of successful people—how they did it and how they are doing it. That magazine and other success-oriented magazines are filled with success recordings, success CDs and as you discover and find out what successful people do, go thou and do likewise.  Today’s successful person is a CD listener, a podcast listener, and a reader.

Here is a portrait of the blessed person from Psalm 1, and the first three verses. We’re going to look at the blessed man, the blessed mind.

“Blessed is the man [mind] that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His Law does he meditate day and night and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season.  His leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he does, shall prosper.

Look at the results the blessed person gets: whatever he or she does shall prosper. Is that the kind of person you want to be?

Affirmation #1

I see myself as a person who prospers at whatever I do.

Now let’s look at some of the characteristics of this person. I numbered five things that cause this to be such a prosperous person.

Cause #1

The first thing about this blessed, prosperous person is that this blessed, prosperous person does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly.  This world is full of ungodly counsel: bad news on the radio, television, in newspapers and magazines telling you how b-a-d things are and that they’re going to get worse.  One of the characteristics of the blessed, prosperous person who just keeps on prospering no matter what—whatsoever he does prospers—is that he will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, he will not hear bad news. He has a disciplined inner ear.  The first Disciple Jesus called and disciplined was Simon, the faculty of hearing.  You must discipline your faculty of hearing so that you will hear only God, only Good.  I strongly recommend you get that whole set of Rev. Ike’s Twelve Disciples CD Series that explains the twelve disciplines of your mind and the first one is hearing, inner hearing. “And Jesus answered him, ‘The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord.’” And that one is I Am, really, your own thought. “As he [a man/a mind] thinks in his heart, so is he.”

The blessed, prosperous man (mind) knows that if he listens to ungodly advice, to the ungodly news about the economy and what he cannot do, this will doom him to failure. Therefore, he does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly—he shuts his ears to the bad news.  In his heart (subconscious mind) he will not listen to the ungodly voices of fear and discouragement, he will not listen to downhearted, negative predictions. He will not follow the advice of the world mind, which tells him, “You can’t.” He only listens to the voice of the indwelling God, which assures him that he can be what he wants to be, do what he wants to do and have what he wants to have no matter what’s going on around him.  The God-in-you always makes a way!

I have played and continue to play Rev. Ike’s The Disciples Series which addresses the twelve disciplines of your mind again and again.  Every time I finish number twelve, I come right back to number one, Simon, right hearing. Simon, the esoteric, mental discipline of right hearing, listens to God, listens to good, listens to the word of God, listens to the words of good, listens to the word of Health, Happiness, Love, Success, Prosperity and Money, until he develops rock faith and becomes Simon Peter.  And this is what you have to do in this world because the world just shouts all kinds of doubt at you, doesn’t it?  To make you doubt yourself. To make you doubt God. Your friends and your loved ones tell you all kinds of things.  Do you know a lot of times your friends and your loved ones give you a lot of ungodly counsel and they think they’re doing you a favor?  You’ve got to watch that old ungodly counsel. You’ve got to get your but out of the way and just go right on about your business.  How many of you have ever had your friends and loved ones give you some ungodly counsel about what you can’t be because they honestly thought they were doing you a favor? You’ve got to watch that. The first thing about the successful, prosperous man is that he does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Again, to be purposely redundant, Simon, the first Disciple of Jesus, the first faculty of the Master man, the Mastermind, is trained to listen to God, to good, and only to God, the good, and just listens to God, the good, until he develops rock faith- until he develops unmovable self-confidence.  That’s why you had better get these CD’s and put it in your ear and listen until you too develop rock faith in the God-in-you.  It’s going to surprise you how fast you will develop rock faith. It will surprise you as you listen to the words of God, the words of good, how fast you will develop unshakable self-confidence.

Let’s do some disciplining of your ear right now and get rid of all of the ungodly counsel that the world mind shouts at you.  Let’s do some right listening: when you say this affirmation aloud you can listen and you will hear these words of good, as you speak this godly counsel with your outer voice. So please repeat this affirmation ALOUD as you read it:

Affirmation # 2

I attune my inner ear to the word of God, the word of good. And in my inner ear I hear God, I hear good telling me that I can be what I want to be. I can do what I want to do. I can have the good that I want to have. Speak, Lord. Your servant hears. I deafen my inner ear to all manner of ungodly counsel. I will not listen to the “I can’t”. I’m deaf to that. I discipline my inner ear to listen only to my good possibilities and I develop rock faith in God, the good. I develop unshakable self-confidence. I will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly with their bad reports.

It’s the first characteristic of the blessed, successful person. A statement from Rev. Ike out of the Science of Living Study Guide, page 26, section 5. (This helps you discipline your inner ear, your inner being.) “Your source cannot be in the world or of the world.” Once you learn that your Source is not of the world, then you won’t listen to the world, because you’ll know it doesn’t matter what the world says. I am finding it interesting reading about this present, economic situation. Some people are talking about how bad it is and others are making bold moves.

One thing makes the difference, though. You see, you’ve got to get it out of your mind that your prosperity comes out of the world, or from the world and then you won’t listen to the world. You see, the world is merely your arena for expression. What is in your world really comes out of your thought. The world should be to you output, but not input. That means that everything that’s in your world you put it there with your thought. If there is failure in your world, how did it get there? That’s your output; it is the output of your thought. There is nothing in the world but what you have put out there with your thought.

Affirmation # 3

I am everyone; I am everything. “I am god and there is none beside me.”

Absolutely! Now that will catch up with you if you don’t catch it right now. I am and there is none beside me. “I am is thought; “I am is awareness. Now back to our relationship to the world.

Each person lives in his or her own personal world. And the world at large is made up of a combination of everybody’s world, on the mass level. There is nothing in our personal world but what we put there. If you don’t like what’s there you have the power to be you transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12: 2). If you have put failure in your world and you don’t like failure, repent and be baptized! Change your mind (Metanoia-- from the Greek μετάνοια, metanoia, changing one's mind, repentance)). Turn your mind around, turn your mouth around, and you will turn your world around.

AFFIRMATIONS FOR October 2008

Use the Power of your spoken word to say these Affirmations for yourself at least twice every day throughout this month of October:

I see myself as a person who prospers at whatever I do.

I am clear about my goals; I know what I want and I get it.

My Source is the God-in-me.

My faith without corresponding actions is useless.

I make decisions easily because I know what I want.

I am not going to get hung up on how it will come about.

I forgive myself for every mistake.

I am not afraid to make a mistake because I know it is merely a learning situation.

I forgive myself for every negative thought and action.

I make up my mind to be successful; I make up my mind to be prosperous.

I make up my mind to have more money than I ever had.

I make up my mind to receive more moneymaking ideas that bless everyone and me.

Now go forth into October knowing and believing your clear thought of what you want can and will create all the good you desire to come into your experience!

AN ANALYSIS OF THE PROSPEROUS PERSON SHOWS THAT THIS PERSON FOLLOWS A REGULAR GIVING PLAN
At this time, I would like to ask you to prepare a love offering to this Ministry if this teaching has blessed you. I want you to use your Decision-Power and the Power of your spoken words to say these Affirmations aloud:

I give willingly because I realize that each time I give after reading this lesson my offering opens my mind to receive new and fresh revelation from this teaching.

I give because I expect to receive; that is Universal Law.

I give because God gives seed to the sower! (2 Corinthians 9:10)

I give my offering expecting to receive it back to me multiplied! (2 Corinthians 9:10)

I believe that what I give comes back to me multiplied because giving is God’s universal Law. (Genesis 8:22)

I give in order to receive, that is God’s Law!

Luke 6:38 (AMP)
8Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.
